STP finalisation declarations need to be completed by the 14 July.
The sooner you finalise your employees’ information, the sooner they will be able to lodge their tax returns.
Making a finalisation declaration
Before making your finalisation declaration, ensure your STP information is correct by comparing your payroll with STP lodgements.
If all amounts match, you can proceed with the finalisation.
Complete the finalisation declaration as part of your STP reporting in your STP enabled payroll software. Refer to your specific Payroll software for specific instructions.
When you have reported and finalised your employees’ information through STP, you are not required to print a Payment Summary to your employees or provide the ATO with a Payment Summary Annual Report.
Employees can access their Payment Summaries through myGov, their registered Tax Agent or the ATO direct.
However, for payments that were not reported through STP, you still need to provide these documents to your employees and the ATO.
